The staff and commission are committed to maintaining high standards in the delivery of leisure services and facilities to locals and owners of Charleston real estate.

Currently the commission operates three large multidimensional family parks, three water parks and three beach parks. Additional they have a dog park, marina, fishing pier, equestrian center, campground and cottage rentals, nature and history interpretive center, and 19 boat and kayak landings. Several other parks are currently in the development phase for the Charleston area.

A number of seasonal hunting opportunities are offered in Charleston SC on protected lands maintained by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, as well as on private preserves. //
